I'm giving myself the weekend to straigten up. The last time I went to the Doctor for a back injury he yelled at me!

Steakbellie,
If you didn't injure your back, you may have a non-mechanical thing going on. I was in my mid 30s when I started having regular lower back pain. It was diagnosed as bilateral sacroiliitis, and later as ankylosing spondylitis. It's a systemic process like rheumatoid arthritis but much less severe, usually. Do a google search on the term. Mostly affects men, mid thirties, northern european/scandinavian background, etc. The very good news is an anti-inflamatory called Indocin (like a prescription aspirin) works wonders. Check it out - I went a few years before taking it seriously; now I'm sore for a bit in the mornings and then nada. (the difference between this and mechanical back problems is that your back actually feels better after movement/exercise).
