On windy days, always take the umbrella out of the glass table on the back deck. Otherwise you may spend an entire day prying glass chunks from between the boards with a butter knife.

My mom used to make me take all of the patio furniture in and store it up in the rafters in the garage for the winter. Then take it all down in the spring and set it back up. Fortunately, she would do all the cleaning and washing of it.

I blame Gerber Daisee! I've put a jar on my desk for the "Restore Steakbellie's Broken Glass Fund". So far I've got : a crumpled up spreadsheet, some lint, a pack of gum, 3 nickels and a dollar. (the dollar's from me.) Sorry Steakbellie, sorry GerberD. Birdy should have told you, now you know :(((

look on the bright side: those are really nice chairs. and you still have the umbrella.

last summer, my patio umbrella blew out of sight in a windstorm, like mary poppins floating up over the rooftops, only not nearly as enchanting.

now all i've got left is a crappy table with a hole in it.
