Hey, you're up by two from the last time! Cool!

Hot dogs...

Best in natural casing (don't you worry your pretty head over what "natural casing" is made of, just enjoy it), boiled for the appropriate amount of time, then tossed on a flat grill right next to the lightly buttered buns that are toasting... A few minutes to crisp 'em up a little, toss 'em on the buns, a little Heinz ketchup (I'm a good little left-winger), some good European mustard, some lightly grilled onion chunks (just grill the onions enough to make 'em sweat - brings out the sweetness without killing the essential onionness)... 'Tis a thing of beauty.

Thanks a lot Chris. I'm starving!!! And that is not at all what they looked like or smelled like in my kitchen Saturday!!!

Chris, that sounds ok, but you've been eating them all wrong. Listen to how I do it.

I've been boiling them in a cast iron pot, and stacking them in buns on a single plate.

I then take off my shirt, watch and rings. And clear my mind as one of my sons counts down from 10.

Rather than enjoying them seated, I stand over the plate bent, grab the first weiner out of the bun and shove the whole thing violently into my mouth. While I chew and swallow as hard as I can.

I use my hands to dip the bun quickly into a cup of water and then stuff its cold soggy blessedness into my mouth as soon as the meat is down.

I reach for the next dog.

It tastes so satisfying this way, that I'll probably do it 14 times this saturday....if it's a good day it will happen in less than 8 minutes and 24 seconds.

Invite some neighbors over to gawk and hoot as you do it. Try not to puke...you'll only feel worse...

Thanks
Safety is a huge part of my training believe it or not. Unlike Chicken wings, I'm fearful of hotdogs and I wont train without someone with me. I have a friend who is 260lbs and big enough to give me the heimlich who is always late when I am starving and ready to start eating....

A buddy of mine thinks you should use whole-wheat buns. "They're less filling," he said. "Every time my wife makes me eat whole wheat anything, I'm still hungry."

Just a thought.

i would much rather use whole wheat buns, but I try to train in 'game day conditions' which means I spend the extra money to get the exact type of dog, and white buns.

If it looks like I will reach my goal of 20 I may ease up abit on training and get the wheat buns though...
