Which one are you going to?

Sonya jut put up a HUGE number!

I think 35 will get a wildcard spot, with 40 being a wildcard LOCK.

With all of the Krystal franchises located well south of PA, how will you practice for this?

Try to recreate the tiny burgers using dinner rolls? That might be fun.

Bob,
For fun I did some analysis of 6 eaters who ate both in the Nathans (finals or qualifiers) and the Krystals in 2005. While some people are better at some foods than others I figured both contests feature meat & bread components.

I found that the eaters averaged 179% more eaten items in Krystals than at Nathans. (you totally throw it off with eating 272% more that year, I may have to run the numbers with more Eaters to get a truer average) Interestingly, Koby has the lowest increase of the Eaters I looked at with 136%.

That would put me at 32.25 Krystals if the average holds true for me. That would be great for me, because my personal goal is to eat more than half of Sonya's Total in a contest. That would mean 31.25. The long term goal is to actually win one of these god-damn contests, but I may have to settle for smaller victories for awhile.

Mega Munch,
Not exactly sure what I'm going to use as training, but I may be making some or buying White Castles if I can get there in Jersey.

The closest White Castle is in Newark, NJ and thats like an hr and 45 min trip.

If you come to New Brunswick, let me know... I'll be there in a heart beat to cheer you on.

I will encourage your superiority as I polish off a satisfactory ... 4.

Interesting stats. I think that I throw that off some for sure as hotdogs is a killer for me and Krystals were easier. But really, I was a much better eater at Krystal's vs Nathan's last year. They are a lot easier to eat. Obviously they are smaller, I mean that they just go down easier as it is a much softer food.

Using my last years 272%, that puts me at 81.6 for this year. I would be satisfied with that number. It is not as high as I had hoped...just joking!

I had pondered a drive to NJ to try White Castles myself. I may do it on Monday, but it is incorporated into another trip.

I have just used frozen White Castles in the past. They are a real bear to have them all "fresh" at the same time though. They were fairly accurate for me last year as compared to the Krystal's. The major difference being that Krystals are the BEST tasting burgers on earth! (That sounds like a sponsors plug to me).

As far as your goals, you have to start somewhere. You have been having success, it is just going to take some time. While you may not be able to beat Sonya (who can?), you can beat plenty of others. The more you pick off, the more confidence you get, the better you do next time, then you pick off even more...

Just don't get discouraged. If you aren't having fun, then it is not worth doing.

I've found a therapist who is willing to be the IFOCE psychiatrist for free to all professional eaters. That whole statistic thing has completely freaked me out!!!!!!!

it important for me to point out that I dont expect to show up and just eat 30+ hamburgers. I havent competed or practiced this type of food, and I dont want to assume that I can do what other good eater have not.

However, I need something to shoot for, and there's no way I'll disrespect the other eaters by showing up unprepared for a contest of this stature.

I did OK in pizza, but I dont think I had the determination I brought to Nathans, or the voracious passion I showed at Burritos. I'm looking to this contest to show some improvement against similarly ranked eaters.

I also want win. That cant be hidden anymore. I dont care who's come from where...i want to win.

So to that end I may wind up in NJ on a cold and rainy night....grrrrrr
