a cold winter night

Last night I lay in bed a long time thinking about my life. My wife was asleep peacfully and various animals (and not kids for once) were tucked into the folds of our bedding, sharing the heat. Without much awareness I farted in the puppy's face and she burst into a two minute sneezing fit.

Knowing that today she learned a lifelong lesson today, I was satisfied enough to drift off to sleep.

That made me laugh!

I was laying on my stomach in bed once a few years back, reading a book, waiting for sleep, when the urge hit. Not being one to deny myself of life's little pleasures, I reveled in the tonality and overall volume of my overture, secure in the knowledge that yes indeed, I am man.

Dagmar made small gagging noises and turned away.

The cat, however, got up from his appointed post at our feet, uncurled himself as felines are wont to do, gave me a withering look as if to say, "Damned monkey, do I have to do EVERYTHING around here?" He then walked up on my back as I lay there and proceeded to paw at the blankets, a thoroughly disgusted look on his face.

After a few seconds it dawned on me. The cat was trying to bury my fart.

Chris's comment made me laugh so hard I spit my drink all of the computer desk. Fart humor ... always funny.

Chris, you need to put the Army Weigh in story on your blog. That was awesome.
