Accountability

How many times are we going to let our Government Officials off the hook for lying? They so easily wipe everything under the carpet by saying "I Mis-Spoke" or "I dont Remember". None of that would cut it in the real world. We really cant trust anything thats said anymore, because they can retract it so easily if they get busted for lying without any consequences.

And can we really believe that at any meeting the Attorney General of the United States chairs, no one takes notes? I have to say, even the Republicans on the committee interviewing Gonzales couldn't spin this, and actually revealed how incredulous that testimony was. I know, it was self-serving, they'd have looked like idiots (see Orrin Hatch) had they reacted any other way. Man, you hit it on the head that anywhere in the real world, this wouldn't begin to be acceptable or believable.

This is the chief law enforcement officer of the country - I suddenly feel even less secure.

Now, come on guys, it is obvious that he has a 'mental impairment' and is in need of our sympathy instead of our outright disgust. I mean, apparently meetings with our beloved Prez are so boring that he doesn't even remember them, whereas I, personally, would be entralled. Wouldn't it be like watching a chimp paint a masterpiece?

And Steak... that totally depends on what your definition of "lies" is. I would loooove to see one of us on trial and try to us 'mis-truth' as a defense. How far ya think we could get on that one?

But we should all be happy to know that Prez thinks Al and Wolfy are doing a spectacular job and he has full confidence in their abilities... even though Al 'can't recall' his meetings with ol GW. Niiiiice. I really think my 16yr old son is ready for the presidency, then, because he can't recall anything I ask him to do. I have full confidence in his abilities to run rings around the Shrub.

"We sent the supeaona back because we didn't have your complete address. The court knew you had not been served- but went ahead with the trial anyway."

I know you were talking about Gonzalez, but my hair turns grayer thinking about my son.

Nobody mis - truthed me or lied...they just did what they felt like and told me I had to fix it myself now. I had to go through the channels. Um? WHAT?

Kind of like Bush hanging 'em all out to dry, eh?

DK...leave me alone, my friend...please?

Love you Steak. Hugs. Skip.

while I am talking about the current crop of Mis-Truth Tellers it could just as easily be the Dems doing the same thing in 4 years. Part of the problem is that we dont hold the people in those positions accountable.

Currently, the City of Philadelphia has a similar fiasco, but with the Democrats doing the lying.
