I have three beautiful sons that are lucky enough to look like their Mother. I spend all of my time with those little bastards.
I'm rated 18th in the World for Competitive Eating. It makes my Mom nervous, she thought I was going to be a Doctor.
So I just walked into my office and on the computer I saw that Jerry Falwell had died, and involuntarily I yelled "YAY!!!" so loud that someone came into my office to see what was up.
Blaming 9-11 and Katrina on 'the gays' was the last straw for me. I'm glad this asshole is dead.
I didn't hear about it until I read this very post. I'm sorry to say I broke out laughing. My buddy over on the next computer looked up. "Whut?" I told him. "Jerry Fallwell died." He stuck both hands in the air, Rocky style and cheered.
I think we're all gonna go to hell for having bad reactions. But I'll be in good company.
I really don't get it. Why has Xtianity become about what everyone else is doing instead of what YOU are doing? Isn't that what Jesus was all about? Just askin'....
Oh, and that goes for every other religion as well...
You're honest, SB, that's all. Many of us thought, good riddance. My ideas about God are skeptical, so I try to think that if He is there, Falwell has been forgiven, and can now see the error of his ways, repent, and be in peace, as it should be if we follow the part of doubt that allows for God. I don't believe in Hell if I believe in God. If not, his soul is now part of the ether, and his corpse is beginning to decompose in casket, and there is literally nothing left, except a legacy of hate and intolerance. Who knows?
I dont mind if he thinks I'm going to hell. I do mind when he uses huge catastophies like Katrina to get free press about his profit-making beliefs and to squarly place the blame on the ones that Jesus himself would be comforting.
I can forgive but I choose not to for this person. He was evil.
Found this on the [redacted] blog. Love it and thought you might too...

I have a theory that Falwell went to heaven because, even though he was an ass, he was very big into the whole “church” deal. Unfortunately for him, he got into a huge argument with St. Peter about immigration and allowing godless illegals into Heaven, he wouldn’t talk to Jesus because his flowing robes and long hair made him look like “a fruitcake” and he got into a huge argument with God, ultimately labeling him “not Christian enough” for the Moral Majority. Which is how he now resides in hell, where Satan is now starting to wonder whether or not taking “every” sinner is such a good idea.
One of my favorite things is when my wife comes home with a bunch of trashy tabloids and we lay in bed with a glass of wine and laugh at Britney Spears.
I hate award shows and people who say 'fiance' too much.

I'll get in line then. My first thought was "ha-ha!"
Sadly, that was my reaction too.

Leonesse, thats an awesome point!
Steakbellie, I think what you said is an awesome point - I can forgive, I choose not to. Fucking great!
I was happy for a whole other reason... I was just glad that no one had him in our death pool.
Next religious "figure" to go?
Tammy Faye Whatsherface.
I just KNEW there was a reason I missed you so much! heehee...With Fallwell dead who will "out" the Teletubbies now?
Hugs!
I had a similar "Yay!" reaction, Steak - but I should point out I did the very same thing upon hearing of Jerry Garcia's demise.

OMG, I did the same thing! Thank God! I did duck a bit under my desk, I was waiting for lightning but I guess God was laughing too.
