The Glass Castle

My wife and I are extrememly careful never to read the books we recommend for each other. I made an exception with this book because it was short and I figured that people in glass castles might sometimes walk around naked.

Great freaking book. It's about the Author's childhood. It's a HORRIBLE childhood but when seen through the eyes of a little girl who didnt know any different it was sweet in some ways. I wont ruin any of it for you, it's worth reading the back cover if you come accross it.

It's Chick Lit but no shirtless Fabio Sex Scenes. Sorry.

I'm reading 'Water for Elephants' now on her recomendation too and laughing.

I really liked this book. I thought it was a testament to how hard it is now to get a home and literary career going in New York that I was actually jealous of the author by the end of the book. Now that's sick.

I liked it a lot too. Now I'm reading Drowning Ruth - Christina Schwarz - very interesting. I usually don't go for all this chick stuff either. But every once in a while....

Water for Elephants was just recommended to me last night. Maybe we should be in the same book club :-)

Faced with a 4-day camping trip (and no internet), I ran out and bought Water for Elephants after reading this post. LOVED IT. Will check out Glass Castle next.
