The Steakbellie and WingKong Wingbowl Movie

Below is video we shot for the WingBowl. I'm very proud of everything except the opening title scene. I had a much better one, but it's didnt render properly. At 4am I decided to scrap it and just go basic on the intro title. So that I could announce the video on the air this morning. It'll haunt me forever I'm sure.

Enjoy the rest though!

Here's a link to the YouTube page if you'd like to get the code to put this video on your own page:

  1. This is the greatest piece of videography known to man! McCarthy should be nominated for an Academy Award, and then, after winning it, he should leave his wife and kids for some hot actress.

Good stuff. Do they show these videos at the WingBowl or did you just do this as a side project?

  3. This was just something that needed to be made. I had some wonderful help in making it a reality.

  4. Burgess Meredith would be impressed with this touching homage. The world would be a better place if we all could just embrace: "Eat it like you mean it."

  10. I watched this while eating my lunch in my cubicle. I'm not sure what happened, but I looked down and my lunch was gone. I think I subconsciously ate faster, and didn't taste a thing. It's nice to get lost in a film.

  12. Kat,
You should see the outtakes. WingKong got pretty salty that we made him do so many situps.

    Philly Guy,
Thanks for coming out to the Museum! I should have a prize for you.

The best shot is you taking the pan out of the oven. Very creative camera angle.

  20. "You gotta eat lightning and crap thunder!"...Best line ever.

Awesome video and nice technique on those wings. I'll be studying that part when I defend my Harrisburg title this summer. And loved that you guys went to Pat's (not Geno's). That's the true mark of a champion eater.

  22. bubba - i posted the link to the utube page

AC - Thats my favorite scene too. I got in trouble for not cleaning the oven window first though

wendy - the big announcement was just this 'Training Video' I want good exposure so that they give me Wingettes with big Cans.

steve - I'm predicting 2 or 3 contests in NYC in 07 and I'll give you plenty of notice!

Chris - it was an absolute blast. I wish I could show ALL of the footage, we did 6-10 takes of each scene and 'Mickey' adlibbed every time, there are so many funny things that got edited!

I must say good job with the video. I stumbled upon that today at work (yes, calling myself out here) and had a good laugh. I mean, shit, eating a pie while doing push-ups?! CLASSIC! Good luck in Wing Bowl, you and Kong. Glad to see you guys are having fun with it all. Plus, I'm sure you will NEVER forget the experience.
